Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

Last Spring, Bootstrap Theatre took "No More Medea" to the local Zone Festival Competition for Theatre BC.

We were also nominees for Best Set & Best Lighting Design, & were runners up for Best Sound!

Thanks to the Production Crew and to the cast for making Bootstrap's first festival so successful!!

Our Press Release for our Spring 2009 Show

NO MORE MEDEA

After digging deep into your subconscious with In Dreams, Bootstrap Theatre is back on stage with a production of Deborah Porter’s No More Medea, a dark and savage comedy about the things we allow to define us.  Picture, if you will, the Place of Battered Legends, a type of Purgatory, in which figures from Mythology justify and make sense of their lives and actions.  Here, we see the twistedly depressed Medea, driven to kill her own children by a desperate desire for revenge, crossing paths with the so-called “Virgin” Mary, powerless to the way people have come to understand her place.  Through the retelling of their personal histories, a friendship is born, along with a love for shopping, and a difference of opinion over the merits of Meryl Streep.

Bootstrap Theatre is an offshoot of the Chilliwack Players Guild and is dedicated to providing an outlet to theatre buffs who are interested in exploring the fringe.   Directed by Players Guild mainstay, Emily Hamel-Walde and starring the incomparable Sheri Eyre as Medea, Bootstrap’s production of Porter’s thought-provoking No More Medea is not to be missed.
